Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Giftfolio (the “Service”) handles information. Giftfolio is designed to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, and the app runs mostly in your browser.

1. What we collect

• No account data. You don’t sign up or give us a name, email, or password to use the Service.
• Gift details stay in the link. When you create a gift, its details are encoded into the claim link itself. We don’t store that gift in a database.
• Local storage on your device. To remember which gifts you’ve already claimed, the Service saves a small marker in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and you can clear it any time.
• Price lookups. To show live prices, the Service asks our price endpoint for the stock symbols you’re viewing; that endpoint forwards those symbols to a market-data provider. We don’t attach your identity to these lookups.
• Standard server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically process technical data (such as IP address and request time) to run and secure the site, as most websites do.

2. What we do not collect

We do not sell your data, run advertising trackers, or build profiles about you. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

3. On-chain data is public

Blockchain transactions are recorded on a public ledger that anyone can view, and they are permanent. Wallet addresses and transaction details are outside our control and are not private.

4. How we use information

We use the limited information above only to operate, secure, and improve the Service — for example, to display prices, prevent abuse, and keep the site running. We do not use it for advertising.

5. Third parties

The Service depends on third parties such as our hosting provider, a market-data provider for prices, and the underlying blockchain. These parties process data under their own privacy practices. We share only what is necessary for the Service to function.

6. Cookies

The Service does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It uses only essential browser storage (described above) to function.

7. Data retention

Because we don’t maintain accounts or store your gifts, there is little to retain. Local storage stays on your device until you clear it. Hosting logs are retained per our provider’s standard practices.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we hold very little, most requests can be satisfied by clearing your browser storage. For anything else, contact us using the details below.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
